Short description from publisher:
"Rashin, an award-winning new artist from Iran, brings Rumi’s classic to life! A plucky parrot living in the home of a wealthy merchant appears to have everything: the love of his owner, the best food, and a golden cage. But, despite all this, the parrot is sad. The merchant will do anything to make his parrot happy! But will he be willing to set his beloved pet free? Rashin’s colorful and lively illustrations bring a fresh and distinctive perspective to this thoughtful classic about what is most important in life."
The story is inspired by a tale from Rumi. Honestly, I've never heard the tale before. But I always love tales -or children fiction -or any cutey book.
The story is about a generous master who really love his new pet -a parrot. However, the parrot is always have a sad face. The master himself is a kind person. Therefore, I'm kinda disappointed with the ending since I thought the parrot will learn to love the master back. Well, I know the parrot loved his master at the end, but I still hope not in that way.
Anyway, I really need to mention that I love the illustration! No wonder, it was made by an award-winner artist!
This book is perfect for good-night story. It is full colour and if I were kids, I would love to read this book and carry it anywhere I go.
